Welcome to the AITRAM Project

Advanced Integrated Training in Aeronautics Maintenance The objective of this project is to contribute to the improvement of the learning process by developing an advanced training system for aeronautics maintenance training, based on innovative concepts, new cognitive approaches and simulation technologies. Procedure assessment considering HF, Trainee’s assessment and self-training, HF in task oriented environment Awareness of the maintenance technician (concerning hand-over & time pressure problems, slips in routine tasks, lack of communication, procedure violation, misdiagnosis, lack of checks, supervision), higher efficiency of maintenance training in aviation, improved HF training.

In a first phase of the project the consortium will capture the user needs. The second phase will serve to develop the integrated training concept, based on user needs assessment, latest research results in Human Factors and state-of-the-art of training means. For the latter the focus lies on Virtual Reality for training. In the third phase the consortium will elaborate the specification of the VR based training system, followed by the Software Implementation.

By set up, test, evaluation and fine-tuning of the application, the partners make sure, that the software available near the end of the project does what it is supposed to do. Based on that, the consortium will evaluate in a final step, whether the project lead to those improvements, in qualitative and quantifiable terms, which it originally aimed at.
